Location:<\/strong> Sumy region, Okhtyrka area, Ukraine<\/p>\n

Who: <\/strong>youth (18-25 y.o.) from Georgia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Moldova and Ukraine: 5 young people + 1 group leader representing each partner organization.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Project idea<\/h2>\n
\n

The international youth exchange in Ukraine is the first stage of the bigger project“Splashes of Diversity”<\/strong>, where youth workers and youth from different cultural backgrounds will meet and experience non-formal and informal learning in intercultural environment.<\/p>\n

The project\u2019s main focus is youth with fewer opportunities<\/strong> and different cultural background<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the youth exchange in Ukraine<\/strong> we will discover about the definition of culture<\/strong> in general, learn about participants’ cultures<\/strong> and intercultural communication<\/strong>. The final activity of the youth exchange will be theatre production<\/strong> which participants would have to create by themselves and to present to the local public.<\/p>\n

Second<\/strong> part of the project is youth exchange<\/strong> in Latvia<\/strong> which will take place on March 2017<\/strong>. It will be dedicated migration and inclusion of asylum seekers. The final product of the youth exchange will be photo exhibition about migration and diversity which participants will present to the local public.<\/p>\n

It is expected that some of participants will take part in both youth exchanges, so the knowledge transfer will be provided.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Aims and objectives<\/h2>\n
\n

– to raise awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries;<\/p>\n

– to promote diversity, intercultural dialogue, tolerance between young people from different countries and coming from different backgroungds;<\/p>\n

– to expand their knowledge on the notions of multiculturalism, acceptance and tolerance;<\/p>\n

– to provide young people with fewer opportunities with international mobility;<\/p>\n

– to share experience and encourage new youth initiatives;<\/p>\n

– to facilitate international exchange, networking and cooperation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

This is the draft of the programme<\/a>, but it\u2019s flexible and everyone can contribute. The programme of the youth exchange will be facilitated by all the project team, group leaders and participants. Participants<\/h2>\n
\n

– young people of 18-25 y. o. (some can be older up to 30 y.o.);<\/p>\n

– coming from Georgia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Moldova and Ukraine;<\/p>\n

– personally interested in the topic of intercultural learning, ready to share and gain new experience;<\/p>\n

– motivated to take active part in the project;<\/p>\n

– motivated to share the experience gained during the project in their communities and use the obtained knowledge on practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Practicalities<\/h2>\n
\n

Accommodation:<\/strong> the participants will be lodged in rooms for 3 people in the bungalow park \u201cSlavna\u201d<\/a> (Sumy region, Okhtyrka area).Food: <\/strong>you will have three meals and two coffee-breaks a day. Please, inform about your food habits and needs (fast, vegetarian, vegan etc).<\/p>\n

Working language: <\/strong>English.<\/p>\n

Internet Access: <\/strong>free wifi is available at the venue.<\/p>\n

Plugs:<\/strong> the type of the plugs in Ukraine is European. Make sure that you have adapters for your electrical devises.<\/p>\n
