As an organizer of projects and events, the cultural association “Alternative Reality” respects the privacy of project and event participants. The privacy policy is intended to protect the personal data of project and event participants and to ensure the right to privacy. It explains for what purposes, how and what participant data is obtained, how it is used and processed.

Personal data of the project and event participant
By applying for a project or event, the participant agrees to the processing of his / her personal data for the purposes of organizing the project / event and to this Privacy Policy. In order to objectively ensure the results of project activities, it may be necessary to indicate the participant’s name, surname, gender, date of birth and other data in accordance with the registration forms that are published for each specific project / event. Other data – telephone number, e-mail, place of residence, to be submitted in a free-choice manner, unless required by the specified project application form. If the participant is provided with insurance within the project, it is necessary to indicate the personal identification code to identify the relevant person.
Lists of participants, project results
The publicly visible list of participants and the results show the name and surname of the participant. If the participant does not want to be shown in the public lists, he / she must inform the project organizer by e-mail alternativarealitate@gmail.com. In this case, the participant will be listed as “Anonymous” in the publicly visible lists.
Photo and video
By applying for participation in a project or event, including some of their activities, project and event participants agree to use the photos and videos taken during the project / event for the needs of the project organizer, including, but not limited to, publishing on the website http://www.alternativa.lv, Latvian media and social portals.
Participant rights
At any time, the project / event participant has the right to request information, make corrections or request the deletion of his / her personal data. All requests for personal data must be sent by e-mail alternativarealitate@gmail.com
Participant database for receiving news
If a participant provides his / her e-mail when applying for a project, it is included in the participant database in order to inform the participant about news or changes in project / event information, as well as other developments. The organizer of the event can inform the participants about the offers of the cooperation partners. From receiving the news at any time, the participant has the opportunity to unsubscribe via a link in a letter or by sending their wishes by e-mail alternativarealitate@gmail.com
Data of other persons that may be processed
A person agrees to the processing of his / her data also in such cases if he / she is a follower of the Cultural Association “Alternative Reality”, http://www.alternativa.lv, http://www.mandarinuzeme.lv, http://www.maijagrafs.lv or activities related to these projects on social portals, if he / she participates in surveys or in tenders if a complaint or claim is submitted and in similar cases.
Third parties
Cultural associations “Alternative Reality” do not sell, rent or transfer the personal information of the participants to third parties, unless this information is necessary for the preparation of reports on projects co-financed by the European Commission or other Structural Funds and related accounting documents.
Data storage
Personal data is stored for 7 years. The website http://www.alternativa.lv reflects the results of projects that have been publicly available for 7 years.
For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except that they can’t change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on a site, we collect the information displayed on the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and a set of browser user agents to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be provided by the Gravatar Service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once a comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are saved indefinitely. This is because we can automatically recognize and approve any additional comments instead of keeping them in the moderation queue.
Visitor comments can be verified using an automated spam detection service.
Media
If you upload images to a site, you should not upload images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and retrieve any location data from site images.
