🌍 ESC Volunteering Team Project: Count of May 2025 – Open Call for Volunteers! 🎭✨

As every year, for the fifteenth time in a row, the bright multicultural festival COUNT OF MAY 2025 will take place in Riga! 🎉 This vibrant event brings together creativity, cultures, and historical traditions, uniting people from diverse backgrounds in an international celebration.

📌 Project Aim:

Together with local volunteers, you will help organize and lead activities as part of the XV International Multicultural Festival “Count of May 2025” in Riga. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in event management, cultural exchange, and community engagement.

🔹 You will work in an international team,
🔹 Organize large-scale public events,
🔹 Engage with people from different cultures,
🔹 Contribute to the local community,
🔹 Bring joy and inspiration to others!


📍 Project Details:

WHAT: Volunteering Team project
WHERE: Riga, Latvia 🇱🇻
WHEN: 13.04. – 21.05.2025 (39 days, excluding travel days)
FOR WHOM: Young people 18-30 y.o. from Latvia, EU, or EU partner countries

👥 Who can participate?

A team of 25 volunteers, including young people with fewer opportunities (economic, social, geographical obstacles, health conditions, educational difficulties).

We welcome individuals who are:
🔹 Enthusiastic and energetic 🎉
🔹 Eager to learn and engage with youth 👥
🔹 Open to new cultures and creative ideas 🎭
🔹 Interested in event organizing, performing arts, social inclusion

No specific skills required – just your passion, creativity, and willingness to contribute!

  • 💰 Financial Coverage:
  • 💯 Fully funded by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC):
  • 🔹 Accommodation, food, and program expenses – 100% covered 🏠🍽️
  • 🔹 Travel costs reimbursed (upon presenting original travel documents) – based on ESC distance calculator ✈️
  • 🔹 Pocket money: 5 EUR per day
  • 🔹 No participation fee!

✔ Learn leadership & teamwork skills
✔ Manage social media, blogs & digital content 📲

🏡 Practical Arrangements

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Accommodation Options:
1️⃣ Shared apartments with basic facilities 🏠
2️⃣ Student campus with common areas 🎓
3️⃣ Host families for cultural immersion 🏡

💼 Work Conditions:
📍 Office space for preparation & planning
📍 Flexible working hours (max 6.5 – 8 hours/day)
📍 Two days off per week
📍 Free days if working on weekends


✈️ Travel & Visa Information

🛂 EU citizens – No visa required, valid ID/passport needed.
🌎 Non-EU citizens – Invitation letter from hosting organization, travel insurance covered by ESC.

📌 Arrival: Riga International Airport ✈️
🚍 Transfer: City Bus 22 to Riga city center (ticket: 2.00 EUR)

👥 Mentors & Coordinators will assist you throughout the project
🎓 Training & Learning Support will be provided
💬 Language courses to help you engage with the community
