COVERED TRAVEL LIMITS DEPEND ON YOUR DISTANCE FROM RIGA AND ARE CALCULATED ACCORDING TO ERASMUS DISTANCE CALCULATOR <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-e850eeff-1fea-4f2f-8300-3a6abbc1e573\">WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/alternativa.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Volunteer-960x480.png?resize=300%2C150&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Volunteer-960x480.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1bd3e534-638a-4003-bfc5-c617305f0942\">The initiative \u201cMandarine Land\u201d was created in 2013 for active people who are interested in working with children, volunteering and helping people. Our organization always encourages volunteers to develop new activities, own initiatives and ideas as long as they are in the framework of the project. We require no specific skills, but happy to have flexible and creative people. Also, we do not require any professional qualifications, but rather interest and enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-dc771142-cda5-4431-a575-0fa032494617\"><strong>We are searching for young people who:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>age 18-30 years at the first day of activity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are enthusiastic and energetic;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are eager to learn, enjoy working with youth and full of creative ideas;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e871a9ff-9f0d-4a88-b1a4-76defc107397\">Strong organizational skills are considered very useful as the ability to communicate in English. In addition, people with singing, dancing, playing musical instruments skills are welcomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, volunteers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2013 should be comfortable living on their own;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 be able to adapt to new situations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 have good problem-solving skills;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 work and live in the mixed groups of volunteers from different nationalities that will have their project at the same time at our organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our organization may involve volunteers with fewer opportunities into the project and ready to accept such applicants. The project is inclusive and it is open for all interested people, who are under the demands of European Solidarity Corpse volunteering projects. No any previous experience is needed, but consider your ability to participate fully and to communicate with more than 350 chidlren of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-solid-color has-black-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-background-color has-text-color has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" style=\"font-size:10px\">\n<p>Since 2013, the Cultural Association \u201cAlternative Reality\u201d is implementing our long-term initiative \u2013 a social integrational project for children \u201cMandarine Land\u201d.&nbsp; With the help of volunteers, a series of events is held every year for children aimed at promoting the social integration of children from socially vulnerable groups, regardless of social status, nationality or other affiliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every winter we organize a series of creative events where at least 350 children from orphanages, crisis centers, low-income families take part and perform various communicative and team tasks aimed at identifying common values: tolerance, respect, honesty, solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Every year more than 50 volunteers take part in the events \u2013 young people and community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total more than 2500 children were participated in MandarineLand during all these years. Some of them became of volunteers for creating new Mandarine Land events!<br><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-764205b0-a9a5-4c03-92ee-ad023347bcfe\"><strong>PROJECT OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-f00d3b1e-064b-405d-873e-7d85cf5e593f\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>increase community awareness of the problems of the next generation, in particular the integration of children from socially vulnerable groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>promote the involvement of children and youth from marginalized groups in society<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reduce discrimination and xenophobia between different social groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>help children understand universal and European values<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote the development of communication skills in children, especially in children from disadvantaged social groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>help children set positive life goals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage volunteers to participate in the project as socially significant charitable activities with a positive effect on the perception of volunteers of life, expanding horizons of life and attracting socially significant topic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develope of a positive attitude of volunteers to volunteering and community service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>contribute to the development of competencies and knowledge of volunteers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>promote community solidarity by attracting volunteers from all walks of life to the project, regardless of origin, social or id=\"block-b041187b-3592-4f9a-877f-fa58e0a829ee\">The main product of the project \u201cMANDARINE LAND\u201d is to organize the set of charity events in Christmas period for children from the orphanages, specialized schools and from Latvian families together with the local volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b041187b-3592-4f9a-877f-fa58e0a829ee\">During the project the volunteers will learn how to organize and manage charity initiatives, promote their campaign among the local community using various means and methods, learn from their peers and also from the local volunteers, meet new culture and get to know the basics of the language, develop and grow as a personality with the sense of initiatives and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-ab10ef4d-b3e1-4f0f-a9f8-ca2233ccc32c\">In the frames of the project volunteers are proposed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2013 to organize various workshops and activities for children and young people;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to conduct sport and active games;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to promote European values and active citizenship, civic responsibility, community service,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to distribute ides of Europe, a friendship between people and peaceful coexistence;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8212; to organize school visits and educational events for students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8212; to organize language cafe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to lead kids groups;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to teach leadership skills to youth and provide them with knowledge about EU, European integration;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to promote cultural diversity and break stereotypes about the volunteer\u2019s countries;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to explain and operate with the basic concepts of tolerance, mutual respect, sense of responsibility particular in relation to the world, human rights;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to promote voluntary service among local youth.;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to organize entertainment events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 to fulfill volunteers\u2019 blog and FB pages of the organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Full list of tasks is dynamic depending on organization needs related to the fulfillment of the proejct. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c2f46518-f13d-45ff-9ac2-0bbc063b6c97\">PRACTICALITIES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-bdc40d7c-7da7-44e0-872f-db8118cc9438\">VISA PROCEDURE<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/alternativa.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/best-travel-shoes-cover.jpg?resize=335%2C193&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is best-travel-shoes-cover.jpg\" style=\"width:365px;height:206px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b15bf1d9-ec0c-402b-80a2-2a30cf0ac1c8\"><strong>EU citizens<\/strong> do not need to make a visa for crossing the border of Latvia and can stay in the country up to 90 days. They can use passport or ID for entry to Latvia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b15bf1d9-ec0c-402b-80a2-2a30cf0ac1c8\">For Non-EU citizens for the crossing of the border volunteers will need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2013 a valid international passport (data of validity not less than 6 months after the returning back home);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 the invitation from Kulturas biedriba Alternativa Realitate (volunteers will be provided by the electronically signed invitation confirmed in Latvian Migration Departament);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 Henner Insurance \u2013 will be provided by Coordinating Organization after signing a Volunteering contract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 good mood and motivation to make a great thing for the local community&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/14.0.0\/svg\/1f642.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude42\" style=\"width: 30px;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-076aebf5-10d3-4d4d-8364-36a1ebf497a5\">TRANSFER TO RIGA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/alternativa.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/riga_cs.jpg?resize=380%2C214&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is riga_cs.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-47bec801-a10c-4994-ad0f-6e9ad2992ed9\"><strong>You can get to Riga directly with flight to Riga International airport<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d92d9237-a3e4-4e79-8ec7-4c5e98d19098\">There will be the instruction letter with the transfer information to the place of the venue as soon as the Hosting Organization gets your travel plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d92d9237-a3e4-4e79-8ec7-4c5e98d19098\">You will get to Riga by city bus No.22 from Riga airport to Riga city center. The price of the city bus tickets is 2.00 EUR buying a ticket from bus driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-389b2fef-8987-4df8-a8ac-54dcbe47df33\">ACCOMMODATION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-9d838d9f-e1e0-47de-addc-6ccb2375c035\">There could be three possible variants of accommodation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-5f9f025f-af9c-4373-9d34-6dbc5bbc7fe8\">1. Volunteers will live in a shared apartment. This is an average modest flat which contains all necessary things for a living: a washing machine, a fridge, bed linen, kitchen utilities and kitchenware available for cooking, Wi-Fi router. Aparmnet is located apparoximately 20-30 minform activity space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-6592665f-c708-4946-a8ab-68f8a9c90f74\">Towel and stuff of personal use is volunteers\u2019 responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-622655ee-c005-4d82-bb32-5d479a1e1311\">2. Volunteers will live in a Students\u2019 campus with the shares rooms and common kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-2da5e50e-e553-49f0-b1c3-1b424165430f\">3. Volunteers will live in a hosting families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-5ff8833a-ba36-477f-92ca-6dac9eea67ac\">WORKING CONDITIONS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-504f6321-4d5c-4acd-b48e-3219f94a8048\">In the office of our organization, there is a separate room where the volunteers may prepare for their activities, language clubs, etc. There is Wi-Fi there so if volunteers have a possibility we would recommend you to bring your laptop or a tablet for personal use. The activities themselves will take place in different locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e70f8c58-d493-4953-bcdc-509210fa76ee\">The first week after volunteers\u2019 arrival will be an adaptation week. Volunteers will see the place of work, get to know the people and the current volunteers, get acquaintance with people from the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1952818a-fa7c-4ff3-8042-b222d2089073\">The working schedule is flexible but no more than 6,5 \u2013 8 working hours per day. If a volunteers are involved at weekends, they will get free days during the week. Every volunteer has 2 days free per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-87e2f86e-beaa-4944-94fa-fcef23ca7ae0\">FINANCIAL ISSUES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/alternativa.lv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Portemonnee-met-geld.jpg?fit=698%2C463&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Portemonnee-met-geld.jpg\" style=\"width:372px;height:247px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b8560783-a7b1-42e8-9ae3-7df5c24b8139\">According to the Erasmus+ Programme Guide, each volunteer will get the coverage (or reimbursement) of the travel tickets in both sides:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-db57944c-2e61-4098-ab96-ea7f0c2db79a\">All the volunteers will get the pocket money (5 euro per day), money for food (300 euro per whole period of the project). Original receipts for food should be provided to coordinating organization not later than 2 days before departure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-db57944c-2e61-4098-ab96-ea7f0c2db79a\">The volunteer\u2019s allowance is given every month in EUR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-db52f6ee-d125-4eda-a518-7550a9bb0a55\">COORDINATORS, MENTORS AND STAFF SUPPORT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d6f1bbb3-24aa-44e4-86cf-f16f874cddaf\">The project is financed by the Latvian NA. All general matters of the project will be followed by partner organizations involved in it.
