The “Present Pulse” Professional Development Activity is designed to tackle the mental health challenges faced by youth workers and the youth, especially those with fewer opportunities.

It focuses on enhancing participants’ motivation, preventing burnout, and equipping them with new knowledge and digital methods to support youth mental well-being. A project seeks to bring together youth workers and leaders from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultures, ensuring no barriers related to gender, social or economic status, health conditions, or cultural differences. By fostering an inclusive and eco-friendly environment, the project will enhance participants’ skills in supporting mental health, promote digital literacy for sharing best practices, and encourage healthy lifestyles and active democratic participation, all within a framework that values diversity and cross-cultural learning.

Mental health is a critical area affecting both youth workers and the young people they support. Addressing this directly contributes to the Erasmus+ priority of mental health and well-being (Youth Goal #5), integrating digital innovation for resource sharing, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Objectives:

  1. Equip youth workers with strategies to manage their mental well-being and prevent burnout.
  2. Provide youth workers with tools and knowledge to support the mental health of young people, focusing on inclusivity and green practices.
  3. Develop and disseminate a digital platform for sharing best practices and resources on mental health.
  4. Engage participants in understanding and practicing non-formal methods to involve youth in democratic life, emphasizing mental health’s role.

Tasks:

  • Conduct workshops on mental health challenges, coping mechanisms, and support strategies.
  • Facilitate sessions on digital tools for mental health support and resource sharing.
  • Promote active, healthy lifestyles as a means to support mental well-being.
  • Explore non-formal education methods for civic engagement with a focus on mental health.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Youth workers are better equipped to address their mental health needs and support the youth.
  • A comprehensive digital platform offering resources and tools for mental health support.
  • Increased awareness among youth workers and youth about the importance of mental well-being and active, healthy lifestyles.
  • Enhanced skills in non-formal education techniques to foster youth participation in democratic life, with a strong emphasis on mental health and well-being.
