COUNT OF MAY 2021: we believe in future

2021 is full of challenges. Pandemic, travel restrictions, gathering restrictions, human fear of the outside world, isolation, quarantine, lack of stability.
But let us not be subject to fear and hardship. We look to the future and look forward to the return of the joy of life, the spiritual closeness and togetherness of the people in these difficult times. Exactly this is the reason why we did not cancelled or postponed a p volunteering project for organization of annual multicultural festival “Count 2021: united in diversity ” in Riga.

17 young people from Latvia and Ukraine together with the team of our organization helped to organize a creative, beautiful and full of content event, which would unite different people from different social, national groups, people of different ages and genders.
Together we looked for a solution to implement activities in accordance with epidemiological safety standards, to develop an event scheme, a scenario, to share the responsibility for organizing and managing locations.
Thanks to digital solutions such as MIRO, JAMBOARD and ZOOM, solutions to challenges were quickly and comprehensively created, works were planned, their sequence and progress.
Thanks to acting and animation classes, project participants say they feel safer in front of the public, learned not to lose heart in the crowd, to continue their work despite different circumstances, to work with children and adolescents, to express their thoughts and emotions, to communicate with each other and others.
We believe that the European Solidarity Corps projects are just the beginning. Most young people who have taken part in at least one of these projects want to repeat and add to this experience, make new friends from other countries, learn to do something they had never imagined in their lives and may not even believe they could do such great things.
We truly thank the Agency for International Youth Programs (JSPA) and the European Solidarity Corps for the opportunity to carry out such projects, bring together active youth and open the door to a wider world for young people.
And we believe that this is just the beginning.
